Mainland QMAS Documents & Process: From Application to Visa

A practical checklist of documents mainland applicants prepare for Hong Kong QMAS, and the step-by-step process from online application to activating the visa.

Document checklist

  • Identity: resident ID card, passport or Exit-entry Permit, recent photo
  • Education: degree and graduation certificates, CHSI verification report, transcripts
  • Work: employer reference letters stating role, duties and dates
  • Income: individual income-tax records and payslips
  • Social insurance: contribution records matching your employers
  • Language: IELTS or other scores if you have them
  • Achievements: awards, patents, publications, professional qualifications
  • Dependants: marriage certificate, children's birth certificates

Process

  2. Submit the online application to Hong Kong Immigration
  3. Assessment (you may be asked for more documents)
  4. Approval-in-principle and visa fee payment
  5. Obtain the endorsement on your Exit-entry Permit
  6. Enter Hong Kong, collect your visa label and apply for an ID card
